Mysterious Henline Falls

Henline Falls, one of those off he beaten track waterfalls in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains near Salem, Oregon.

A bit of Old Oregon history is involved here. Henline Falls is named after the creek, which was in turn named for a settler of the area who had come in search of the rich prospecting in the area. Immediately to the right of the base of the falls is the Silver King Mine, which goes back 1000 feet, but is closed off 100 feet in. Remnants of a tramway leading from the mine are visible as the trail near the falls. Alas, there was not all that much silver to be had and the mine closed.
